This review is one we felt was worth sharing with you because it’s about a product we’ve come to rely on at the Brimly Test Kitchen. After using it consistently, it’s earned a spot on our Top Recommendations list—and for good reason. In this article, we’ll walk you through exactly why we think it’s worth your attention, what it’s been like to use day to day, and why it might just deserve a spot in your shopping cart too.

1. Does it actually work for everyday things, or is it just pretty to look at?

Based on my experience with the Splendor Blender by Our Place, I’d say it’s more than just a pretty face—it’s practical and powerful. Every time I use it, it works without much effort on my part. Of course, as with any blender, you’ll need to add some liquid to help things move around smoothly, especially if you're working with ice or thicker ingredients. But I haven’t had to stop, shake, or stir mid-blend. As long as there’s enough liquid, everything blends effortlessly.

It handles soups and sauces the same way. Even when ingredients seem like they’ll need more time, the blender gets the job done faster than expected. I’ve thrown in ingredients for smoothies, sweet treats, and even a full batter for Brazilian cheese bread—cheese, tapioca flour, eggs—and it blended everything in under 10 seconds. The result? Silky smooth. The texture it produces is consistently impressive.

It’s clean-looking and minimal in design. There are just three main buttons—blend, pulse and power—that’s it. The base has a good weight to it, so it stays grounded during use. It’s not one of those flimsy blenders that rattles around on your counter. Honestly, I use it for smoothies, sauces, and batters, and it hasn’t let me down once.

2. How does it compare to other blenders you’ve used?

In my opinion, this is one of the best blenders I’ve used. I’d definitely place it in the premium category, especially when you consider the performance and price point. Just the base (what I call the “brain” of the blender) runs about $135. If you want more than the base, Our Place offers kits—like the Personal Kit or the Everything Kit—which include different vessels depending on your needs.

I personally got the Everything Kit. It includes:

  • The 1000-watt blender base

  • A 32 oz pitcher with a lid

  • A 750 mL personal vessel with a lid

  • A 450 mL sauce vessel with a lid

Each piece is thoughtfully designed and feels very intentional. I love that I can switch between vessels based on what I’m making. For smoothies, I use the personal vessel. For blending batters or larger quantities, I go with the pitcher. The sauce vessel is great for dressings or smaller blends. Everything clicks into place, feels sturdy, and has a purpose.

The motor is powerful, but not obnoxiously loud. Compared to other blenders I’ve used—which can sound like a lawnmower—this one runs quietly. It also doesn't jump around the counter, thanks to the silicone feet underneath.

Another thing worth highlighting is the material quality. The vessels are made from Tritan Renew, which is BPA-free, PFA-free, and overall toxin-free. That was a non-negotiable for me. I care a lot about what comes into contact with my food, and this blender checks all the right boxes.

3. Is it easy to clean and store, or will it annoy me over time?

This blender is easy to clean, which was honestly a huge win for me. It’s fully disassemblable—so you can take it apart, clean each section, and put it back together without a hassle. You can unscrew the blade section from the bottom of each vessel, and from there, clean around the sharp blade carefully. I prefer to hand wash everything, but the vessels and lids are also top-rack dishwasher safe.

One thing I love is being able to remove the silicone gaskets from the lids and the blade base. That lets me really get into the little crevices that other blenders might leave grimy over time. Even the lid knob on the pitcher can be unscrewed for cleaning. It’s thoughtful little touches like that that make cleaning satisfying, not frustrating.

If I’m in a rush, I do a quick-clean hack—just fill the vessel with warm water and dish soap, pulse a few times, and rinse. It works well when you don’t have time to do a full wash.

As for storage, the footprint is small. I keep mine on a kitchen rack with other appliances, and it fits just fine. The base is weighty but manageable—sturdy enough not to tip, but not so heavy that it’s a pain to move. It’s compact, clean, and honestly looks great on the counter if you choose to leave it out.

4. What’s the real value here—am I paying for function, design, or the brand name?

You’re paying for function and peace of mind. The Splendor Blender isn’t just about the look or the Our Place label. It’s about performance and safety. For around $180, the Everything Kit gives you several vessels that serve specific purposes—from sauces to smoothies to batters—all made from safe, non-toxic materials.

That 1000-watt motor paired with sharp, effective blades gives you a silky smooth blend every time. Doesn’t matter if you’re making a shake or prepping soup, it handles it with no struggle.

For me, a huge part of the value lies in the materials. The fact that there’s no glass (so no shattering) and no harmful chemicals was what drew me in initially. The vessels are made from Tritan Renew, a food-safe plastic made from recycled materials. It looks like glass but has the durability and safety of plastic. In a world where we’re just now realizing how unsafe so many past materials have been, I like knowing this one’s a safer bet.

So yes, it’s functional. Yes, it’s thoughtfully designed. But more importantly, it feels safe and reliable—and that’s what makes it worth the price.

5. Would you actually recommend it—or would you go with something else next time?

Absolutely, I would recommend it. Especially if food safety and toxin-free materials matter to you. The vessels are free from all the harmful chemicals we’re trying to avoid these days, and for me, that alone makes it worth it.

If you’re part of a smaller household—say, a family of two to four—this is more than enough blender for your needs. The 32 oz pitcher may not be the biggest out there, but it’s perfect for daily use, and the additional vessels give you flexibility.

It works well in my home and in my test kitchen because it’s dependable. It blends well, it cleans well, and it stores easily. And yes, it looks great too. The available colors—Steam, Char, Blue Salt, and the limited edition Spice—make it easy to match your space. I went with Steam and I love how neutral it is.

Even the packaging is beautiful. If you’re considering this as a gift, it presents well right out of the box. It doesn’t look or feel basic—it feels like a premium, well-thought-out product.

“It uses tapioca flour, so there’s no need to make a custom gluten-free blend to get started.”

Final Thoughts

It’s on the Top Recommendations section of Brimly for a reason. We only feature what we’ve used, tested, and loved—and this blender definitely earns its spot. If you’re looking for something dependable, safe, versatile, and easy to use, this is one worth investing in.
